The new President of the United States, President Donald Trump, was sworn in today. What an exciting day in history! It’s no secret Trump did not get my vote. But what he does get as POTUS is my respect.
Looking back at some of his ahem indiscretions makes it hard to do sometimes. Very hard to do. Like explaining to my children that making fun of those that are different is wrong. Or that my daughter can do anything my son can do. Or that her body is a temple and is to be respected. I struggle with this too. A LOT.
But here’s the thing,…
God doesn’t call us to that which is easy. He calls us to follow Him, to step out on faith. You don’t have to put your faith in President Trump, all you have to do is put your faith in Him.
And when all else fails, because we are human, and we will fail at times, remember and find comfort in this:
“Jacob was a cheater, Peter had a temper, David had an affair, Noah got drunk, Jonah ran from God, Paul was a murderer, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossip, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sara was impatient, Elijah was moody, Moses stuttered, Abraham was old,… and Lazarus was dead.”
God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the CALLED!
